The museum has been loaned the original molds for Rubik’s Cube to place on display for a limited time. Jay Horowitz will be talking about his involvement with the Ideal molds and his invention of the Sudoku Cube. He will be signing autographs as well. Just announced: famed Ideal Toys executive Stewart Sims will be joining us remotely for the exhibit unveiling! He will be sharing his stories of how he went to Hungary and negotiated for the rights to the Cube on behalf of the Ideal Toy Company, in his role as the VP of Marketing for Ideal's Toy Division. Hear the story from this firsthand source! There will also be a Q&A session after his talk! Also, for this day only, anyone who brings their own cube and can solve it in less than 5 minutes can get free admission to the museum. The event is included with admission to the museum.

12:00 Noon: Stewart Sims* - a presentation via Zoom
Legendary Ideal Toy Company executive Stewart Sims will share with us his
firsthand account of negotiating the rights to Erno Rubik’s invention for Ideal Toys.
Stewart, in his capacity as the head of Marketing for Ideal’s Toy Division at that time, is
the one who traveled to Hungary on Ideal’s behalf to negotiate with Erno Rubik and his
representatives. He was involved with Erno’s appearance at the New York Toy Fair to
promote the new product, and with the discussions about naming of the new product. A
real chance to hear history firsthand! A short Q&A session will follow.

A lifelong participant in the “toy game”, Jay has crossed paths with just about
anything to do with playthings! He will share with us the story of how his company,
American Plastic Equipment, Inc., came to own the original Rubik’s Cube molds that
were loaned to the museum. He will also share how the Rubik’s Cube played a major
role in his invention of the Sudoku Cube.
