We've posted a "snapshot tour" on our site. Just click below, and get some idea of just what we're all about! It's just a little taste of the fun that awaits you on Kruger Street!

Hours of Operation:
  • Museum Opens at 9 AM each operating day. The final tour each day always starts just prior to 5 PM each day,
    so try to arrive with enough time to truly enjoy your visit!
  • See the schedule at the top of this page for days of operation by season.
  • Closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year's Days
  • The museum is OPEN on many holidays (like Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc), but usually for abbreviated hours.
    Call for particulars if you would like to make a holiday visit!
  • Other times for groups can be arranged by appointment
Admission (prices do not include 6% WVa sales tax):
  • Adults-$9.00
  • Senior Citizens (65 & over) $7.50
  • Students (6 to 17 yrs. old)-$5.00
  • Children under 6-FREE when acccompanied by an adult
  • Group rates available upon request
  • Yearly membership available  ($15 individual membership; $40 family membership). Membership offers you unlimited
    visits to the museum during regular hours for one year, a 10% discount on all giftshop purchases, our Museum
    Newsletter, a discount on admission for any guests you bring with you, and much more!

  • Remember, our fun and informative tour guides are a part of the museum experience, and there is NO additional cost to have a guide. Since our guides are paid, and not volunteers, tipping is unnecessary. Or, if you would prefer a more private experience at the Museum, self guided tours are always permissible.
  • Attention AAA and CAA members: We are part of the AAA Show Your Card and Save Program! AAA/CAA members receive 10% off of admission, and off of all giftshop purchases! We also offer an admission discount for active military!

    From Columbus and Points West:

    Take Interstate 70 East to Exit #4, Elm Grove.At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right onto National Road. Continue straight through the intersection onto Kruger Street.  Go 2 blocks on Kruger Street to Center Avenue, then turn right into the parking lot.
    From Pittsburgh and Points East:

    Take Interstate 70 West to Exit #5, Elm Grove. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left.  Go to the first traffic light, and turn left onto Kruger Street.  go 2 blocks on Kruger Street to Center Avenue, then turn right into the parking lot.
    From the new Cabela's location in West Virginia:

    This one is EASY! Take Interstate 70 West to Exit #5, Elm Grove.At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left.   Go to the first traffic light, and turn left onto Kruger Street.  go 2 blocks on Kruger Street to Center Avenue, then turn right into the parking lot. Grand total, we are only about 5 miles from the store, and are the CLOSEST tourist attraction in the area to Cabela's!

  • January 12 to April 6, 2008:"Dolls of the World" - the museum has received a wonderful collection of dolls from around the world, which were assembled by Miss Anna Fulton of Pittsburgh, PA. The late Miss Fulton acquired the dolls during her summer travels while a school teacher in Pittsburgh from the thirties to the fifties. Come and see these truly interesting artifacts which document her travels!

  • February 9 to June 27, 2008:"Monopoly - the Sheldon Klasky collection". Mr. Klasky, of Bloomington, Minnesota, spent 40 years assembling this wonderful collection of everything Monopoly, from early sets to foreign editions, from memorabilia to commemoratives! And he has decided that his collection should come to the Toy Museum! Experience this truly American game in a whole new light!

  • Saturday, March 29, 2008:For the Boy Scouts out there, we will be offering our popular Railroading Merit Badge class. Space is limited, so check out the Scouting page for more info, and register TODAY!

  • April 12 to July 6, 2008:"Transportation Nation" - an exhibit of transportation themed toys, which will walk you through the history of various modes of transport. From horse drawn vehicles to the most modern spacecraft are represented in this unique exhibit!

  • June 6 and 7, 2008: The 2008 West Virginia MEGO MEET! The dates have been set, but plans are forthcoming. Keep checking our Mego Meet page for more details as they become available!

  • June 20th & 21st, 2008: 10th Annual Marx Toy & Train Collectors National Convention - we've already set the dates for next year's Marx Convention! More details to follow, but rest assured, we'll make our 10th anniversary show one to remember!

  • July 12 to September 28, 2008:"The Revival of Marklin" - an exhibit of the Marklin trains of the late Walter P. Griffith, Sr. of California. Mr. Griffith assisted the Marklin factory in restarting after World War II. These trains were given to him by the executives at Marklin in appreciation for his efforts, and his family has donated them to the Toy Museum to be on permanent display!

  • August 15 to October 19, 2008:"Lawrence Lines - One Man's Passion" - a look at the Lawrence Lines, the brainchild of Lawrence Schwedes, a maker of highly detailed HO train kits in the fifties and sixties, AND the founder of Lawrence Laboratories of Santa Monica, California. See original tooling, blueprints, research materials, and other rare and unique artifacts from this truly interesting collection!

  • October 4 to December 31, 2008: "For the Inquisitive Mind..." - an exhibit of toys that were not only fun, but also taught kids! Everything from science sets to construction toys to word puzzles! There's a lot of fun learning in this display!

  • Saturday, October 4, 2008:"JediCon 2008!" - the Toy Museum will be the site of a gathering of Star Wars fans like none other! The JediCon, which has been held in Middlebourne, WV for the past few years, is moving to Wheeling! More details to follow!

  • November 7 to December 31, 2008: "Christmas at the Toy Museum" -our part of Wheeling's annual salute to Christmas, the Festival of Lights!

  • 3rd Annual Marx Convention - Friday afternoon

    Attendees from the Third Annual Marx Toy & Train Collectors Convention, held June 15 and 16, 2001 in Wheeling, West Virginia at the Kruger Street Toy & Train Museum. The convention is held each June here at the Museum!
